On a pinic a few years ago, my mother and I saw some parrots that were a
bit bigger than Rainbow Lorikeets, and that had a dark blue or purple
(I'm slightly colour blind) head with a yellow ring on its neck. The
ranger SAID that they were Ringneck Parrots, but the ringneck that fits
the description is the WESTERN Ringneck Parrot, and even the Eastern
Ringneck's range doesn't extend this far east...aviary escapees? I used
the Pizzey/Knight field guide and What Bird is That?
