Highlights from twice-weekly Canberra Ornithologists' Group (COG) hotline, for week ending 9 January (some reports are of earlier obs). A quiet week. BASSIAN THRUSH 30/12 garden in suburban Cook PLUMED WHISTLING-DUCK 2/1 1 still or again in Commonwealth Park, the centre of tourist Canberra!!! WHITE-BROWED WOODSWALLOWS 30/12 small colony breeding near Lake Bathurst (just east of Lake George, between Canberra and Goulburn). ...................................................................
