Highlights from twice-weekly Canberra Ornithologists' Group (COG) hotline, for week ending 16 January (some reports are of earlier obs). A quiet week again. LITTLE & FAIRY TERNS 5/1 Wallagoot Lake, near Merimbula; both breeding (including 6 pairs Littles) [You may object that Merimbula is somewhat peripheral to Canberra, but in summer the south coast is a suburb of Canberra!] KOELS 11/1 suburban Macquarie and Curtin TURQUOISE PARROT 11/1 juvenile at Roses Lagoon (on Federal Highway, ~30k on Canberra side of Goulburn, near Collector ) ...................................................................
