Highlights from twice-weekly Canberra Ornithologists' Group (COG) hotline, for week ending 12 December (some reports are of earlier obs). SPINE-TAILED SWIFTS (or W-t Needletail if you MUST) 29/11 over Canberra (this is about a week early; still only singles - flocks should be along soon) SPOTTED & SPOTLESS CRAKE 9/12 at suburban Jerrabomberra Wetlands (in same binocular field at once!) SPANGLED DRONGO 11/12 suburban Hughes (only 4th record for Canberra, first since 1990) DOLLARBIRD feeding flying young 6/11 (if this is correct, would be abut 2 months early!!) Cheers, Ian ...................................................................
