Further to Paul Osborne's observations I have noted the following outlandish winter observations for Canberra (by my standards at least) in the last 2 days: 2 Dollarbirds flying over yesterday afternoon and a full plumage male Rufous Whistler this morning. It seems as cold as ever and the native shrubs seem to be about one week late in flowering around here. There seems to be no shortage of typical winter visitors to the city this year either, including a Barn Owl at Lake Ginnindera. I don't pretend to understand it but it is fun at least! *********************************************************** Dr.P.J.
