I found it curious that the supplied Eclipse support only works on Windows,
even though the target environment is Linux. I have asked here about how to
make Eclipse work in Linux, and never got a solution. If it could be made to
work, it would be my second preference behind standard commandline tools in a
Linux-hosted cross-development setup.
As a matter of standard practice, I favor complete separation of development
and target/production environments.
