Mike,
If you go to Mysql's site you can use their standard sources for the
client or server. There shouldn't be architecture dependent versions of
any of the sources. If you want to use the 'apt-get source' command
then make sure you have the deb-src repository in your
/etc/apt/sources.list. Also make sure you search for the sources for
the library not the header package (-dev).
