VNC does not support a full window manager. I just use multiple telnet sessions and work on the command line. For compilation, that's good enough for me. A better alternative is the eclipse IDE that Technologic packages with with its OS, but I have some issues with their cross compiler and cross libraries they provide, at least on the TS7500

On this note, you can use Xvnc and some tweaking of your X config to
give yourself another X session that you can size to 800x480 and VNC to
from your main X session/environment.
