I had a similar issue with the TPC 7395 when using the EABI compiler that comes 
with the development kit. Basically when I would try and run the compiled 
binary the SBC would segfault.

The solution I found is to use a version of GCC that I found here: 
http://freaknet.org/martin/crosstool/packages/arm-ep9312-linux-gnueabi-gcc-g++-4.1.1-glibc-2.4-crosstool_0.42-1_i686.deb

Now of course this probably won't help you if you are using Windows as your 
development environment but if you can use Debian or Ubuntu on your dev system 
this may fix your issue. I don't know if this particular compiler will work 
with the 7800 however the website seemed to have a number of other compilers so 
maybe one of them will work for you.
