Dave,
I run
ntpclient -i 300 -c 288 -h $NTPHOST > filename.log

i is the interval 300 seconds - 5 min, c the count 288 equivalent 24h and then your ntphost address. The log will then have a column for day, seconds, ntp transaction time. internal delay, clock difference and dispersion from server. All this is in the how to, where there also are gnu plot commands to obtain plots but I prefer to use matlab, just a personal preference. hope it helps.

Well, not quite what I was looking for. When you do finally get two devices synchronized how do you plan on taking simultaneous measurements ? Or is that a requirement ?
