Each "device" consist in this case of several computers (running multiple os) and quite a bit of hardware. The TS 7260 is a minor detail in the system. The main trick of having such a complex system running synchronized is to time tag all the parameters that are used for sync or real time applications with the same quality clock. I uses a high end ntp server that triggers the whole system from the same 10 Mhz signal.


Ah, ok, so you don't actually have to have events occur at the same time, you just need to know exactly when they occurred. IEEE1588 sounds like what you need.
