Hi,
Micheal of TS pointed me to a utility to erase NAND flash with bad blocks.
ftp://ftp.embeddedarm.com/tmp/erase_BB
$ flash_eraseall_ignoreBB -j /dev/mtdblock/1
flash_eraseall_ignoreBB: /dev/mtdblock/1: unable to get MTD device info
It fails to work on my board so I thought I'd rebuild it locally.
However, I can't see where the source is provide despite declaring itself GPL:
$ flash_eraseall_ignoreBB --version
flash_eraseall $Revision: 1.24 $
Copyright (C) 2000 Arcom Control Systems Ltd
flash_eraseall comes with NO WARRANTY
to the extent permitted by law.
You may redistribute copies of flash_eraseall
under the terms of the GNU General Public Licence.
See the file `COPYING' for more information.
It seems that the version supplied is a version of the tool supplied in
mtd-utils tweeked to ignore and hence erase bad blocks.
So it should be easy to build for any kernel.
TS have asked in the past to be notified if they are failing to provide source
code where required.
This looks like a case in point. So please:
where's the source?
