If you can catch the bootloader to pass kernel parameters, you can
bypass the normal init by adding init=/bin/sh onto the kernel command
line. This will bypass the need for inittab so that you can possibly
work out what has gone wrong - this is a generic Linux kernel feature
rather than TS-specific.
Imaging the card might still be easier though!
