It works just fine. On the TS7250 I get 128,000 baud when I do this:

if (TRUE == for_half_duplex)
{
system("setserial /dev/tts/0 irq 22 uart 16550A skip_test baud_base 1662500 spd_cust divisor 12");

running_at_this_baud = B38400;
}


Thanks Fred!  I've checked out the man page for set serial and I think I know how to proceed from here.  I'm looking forward to trying it on the hardware when I get into the shop.  I appreciate the speedy response!
