Hi all,
Long time forum reader here, first post. ;) We're using the TS7xxx
SBC in a product and have been doing a great deal of development.
I've got a strange problem with mounting SD cards during boot:
7800 SBC with a fresh image from TS's ftp site. No other changes.
SD cards (microSD, tried in either slot) will fail to mound sometimes
during boot. The card is seen by the kernel, but the mount fails.
After much testing, it seems specifying the file system type (VFAT)
instead of 'auto' in fstab fixes the problem !
I suspect it has something to do with the card still initializing when
mount tries to mount it. How the change from 'auto' to 'vfat' makes
it work I'm not too sure. The problem is very repeatable but doesn't
happen every boot.
I have tried multiple 7800 boards and multiple microSD cards, so the
problem isn't a one-off bad device.
Can someone verify this problem and offer some insight ? Even though
we seem to have a fix I don't like not knowing the 'why'.
Thank-you all !
