If you are OK working from the shell prompt to debug speaking to your
other boards, you may want to take a look at the TS-ADC16 shell
library from TS.  They put it together for their TS-ADC16 and TS-ADC24
PC-104 modules:

If your other boards are similar, perhaps that would help.  But, be
aware that the library expects to have 'peekpoke [8,16,32]' available,
which TS builds into the TS version of busybox.
