Charlie,

Thanks for the info, I saw the work that was done for the Marvell chip
and the ts-7800 on the 2.6.27.  At the moment I am fine-tuning my
rs-485 interface and have SPI and ADC on the to-do list.  I am
concerned that installing a new kernel right now would introduce too
many untested variables to the project...

That being said, I do need Real-Time and RTAI is off the table (too
disruptive, and not portable) so I will tackle the kernel upgrade soon
because:
1) I can live with "close to Hard Real Time"
2) Mainline support is just too good to pass...

I will post my findings.
