Hello,
I've been trying to take pictures with my Logitech Quickcam Chat
(046d:092e) with the spca5xx driver from http://mxhaard.free.fr but my
ts-7400 hangs when i try to take a snapshot with vgrabbj -d /dev/video0.
The ts-7400 succesfully recognized the webcam and dmesg gives me :
Linux video capture interface: v1.00
usb.c: registered new driver spca5xx
drivers/usb/spca5xx.c: USB SPCA5XX camera found.Logitech QuickCam chat
(SPCA561A)
drivers/usb/spca5xx.c: [spca5xx_probe:5485] Camera type S561
drivers/usb/spca5xx.c: [spca5xx_getcapability:1767] maxw 352 maxh 288

drivers/usb/spca5xx.c: USB SPCA5XX camera found.Logitech QuickCam chat
(SPCA561A)
drivers/usb/spca5xx.c: [spca5xx_probe:5485] Camera type S561

minw 160 minh 120
drivers/usb/spca5xx.c: spca5xx driver 00.60.00.1 registered
Then I created a new video device : mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0
and I tried to take a picture with vgrabbj but it hangs like I said
before.
So, I tried using the spca5xx-LE and I followed the instructions here
: http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5le.html.
The only thing that I can't figure out is what to do afterwards. Do I
have to insmod the same spca5xx.o from the original spca5xx driver or
do I have to insmod the spca5xx.o from the applied patch in the kernel?
Or is there another way i'm not aware of?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Fred
