I think you may be right but that is not the way it is presented on
thier site. If that's all it is then I feel they are to some extent
misrepresenting what they provide.

TS-Linux is a compact Linux distribution, based on Busybox, ideal
for small footprint systems and used as a demonstration OS on the TS-
7200 computers.

So TS-Linux is "ideal" for small systems. Not TS linux is proof of
concept only and you really should know how to build your own root
fs, write kernel drivers and build a system from scratch if you want
to buy our boards.
You say that , they don't.
I don't think TS-linux is of no real use as you suggest, I think it's
very good. However it would save _every_ customer's development cycle
if we did not all have to overcome the same issues that could easily
be fixed at source.
It would take TS a lot less time to provide a working BusyBox than it
would be for us to guess the config they used and produce a
compatible replacement.
I'd much rather spend my design effort on the specifics of my
application rather than reinventing the wheel by building a system
from scratch .
That's why I chose TS boards because that's what they offer.
A bug fix release would be an asset.
