Have you ever dealt with Wind River (vxWorks) or QNX? If you don't have
a $2000+/year support contract you don't even get updates to your
software. That means if something is broken in a release that you
purchase without the support contract you're out of luck. This is also
true for other software like CCS's PIC-C compiler.
There are always bugs, and in this case thanks to open source software
TS chooses not to focus on a problem they know most of us can solve on
our own. Instead they choose to focus on building cooler and faster
hardware for us to run our open source software on.
Question for TS, if one of us built a new tarball with some bug fixes,
would TS use it?
