Turns out I was not thinking straight at all last night.. sorry to confuse everyone.. I was measuring the voltage of perhaps one of the SPI pins.. I looked at the schematic backwards. The DIO's initial outputs are 0V. Thanks for everyone's input and help. Yahoo!
