Hi,
I access my TS-7300 via both the RS232 port built into my XP laptop
and a RS232 to USB convertor.
Hyperterminal is fine for basic interactions, but sending large
blocks of data over the port can lead to data corruption/loss (in my
experience).
I use the Indigo Terminal Emulator from ShadeBlue
(www.shadeblue.com), for most tasks other than some data transfers
using the Zmodem protocol which is not supported in Indigo.
Make sure you are using a null-modem cable (Pin 2>3, 3>2, 5>5) and
have turned off hardware handshaking.
I think the defaults I use are 115kbaud, 8bit no parity, 1 stop bit,
no hardware handshaking.
