Good! I'm sure Herbert would appreciate feedback on his patch and
maybe it would get pushed to mainline sooner (it's still not in
2.6.25-rc2).

I think it would, especially if a posted patch (with no other
feedback to date) helped your problem. Given a way to duplicate it,
I bet they can help you fix any remaining issues.
