yes, "Etch" (version 4) is a more recent version of Debian than the
"Sarge" (v 3.1) that all the TS stuff is based on for the 72xx boards.
You really can't pick and mix like that.
If you really need libc6 and it is not built for Sarge you will need
to build it youself and deal with any package dependancies that may
create. ( This is what distros do for you. )
If all that sounds a bit hairy to you, you may need to reconsider
your need for libc6 as opposed to libc5.
