hmm , seems like mousedev.o may only relate to usb mice.

so far I have /dev/input but it's empty. How do I get a device for
the mouse? On my desktop system (ps2 mouse) I can do

  cat /dev/input/mouse0

and it spews all sorts of funny chars to the screen.

Will a working mousedev.o give me the device I'm looking for?

@Eddie, you asked to be notified of breakage: TS's "Linux for ARM
guide" says to insmod mousedev but it fails to be recognised as a
module and does not load.
