We're using a WM8510 (a mono codec) - hand wired. However, the driver
isn't public yet - there are some significant issues still, and I
haven't had time to get back to looking at it.
The driver is based on ASOC - and therefore, you could choose any codec
that ASOC supports using the I2S transport.
I would recommend looking at the Wolfson codecs with built-in
amplifiers. Our audio solution is the Wolfson example diagram - just
wired to the TS7400, and contains about 10 parts. I would suggest you
look at the similar wolfson codecs first, as other solutions, like the
CS4271 require dozens of parts...
One thing though - I don't use TS linux - I rolled my own 2.6 build
using buildroot as the sound driver isn't compatible with kernels lower
than 2.6.15.
