This is a plea for help....

Technologic developed a really nice daughterboard for us with all
sorts of neat features, including the ability to plug in an IR sensor,
which should allow us to use a regular TV remote control for input and
control.

My knowledge of kernel drivers is pretty minimal and the lirc code in
particular is pretty opaque to me. I've located an EP9302 patch for
lirc here <http://xania.org/article.php/lirc_ep93xx_driver> which uses
GPIO for input; I'd like to modify that to for use with our board.

I'm hoping someone on the list has enough familiarity with both kernel
drivers and LIRC to give me some guidance on what I have to do to make
this work.

(The IR remote thing isn't really a part of our product so I can't
spend a lot of work time and resources on it, thus the plea....)
