[ts-7000] kernel image and loading questions

What is the difference between the zImage and vmlinux versions?

 

There doesn’t seem to be binary versions for the ts7200 past ts9 on the ftp site even though it ships with ts11?  Is this correct? 

 

There seems to be a vague reference in the redboot docs about loading via serial rather than network, but it’s never explained.  Is this possible?  If so how?
