I modified the wiki article to clarify this topic, you should see a link
to a dd image at the bottom of the article in the Downloads section. The
first paragraph talks about loading Debian on an SD card.

You'll need a custom kernel if you'd like to use an ext3 filesystem as
the default shipping kernel from Technologics does not have ext3
support.
