The onboard kernel uses devfs, so the entries are automatically created.
How is the CFdisk you are using partitioned?

  fdisk -l /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc

or  what is the output of...

  cat /proc/partitions

How was the CFdisk setup?
