Interesting.  One thing about this board is Bob didn't route me many 
address lines to the CPLD on the TS7400 so I'm not sure I could do 
one CPU bus cycle -> one simple-bus cycle, but it definitely could be 
done with 2 (address register + data register)  I'll look into this 
one, thanks Peter.  I could even give the simple-bus an IRQ pin and 
DMA pin....

We were actually discussing this earlier.  Is there a particular 
reason one couldn't use the EP9302 SPI controller and GPIO's as chip-
selects?  You can daisy chain SPI and the only device driving the MISO
signal should be the one selected by the GPIO.
