Thoughts on the new TS-7400:

- You can access the EP9302 controller's JTAG interface, (you need the TS-9441
card to connect $125.00), older cards didn't allow this.

- JTAG is daisy chained with CPLD JTAG (CPLD JTAG was on older boards). So you
can do remote GDB debugging of the EP9302 using JTAG. This also means only on
JTAG conector is needed for both the CPLD and EP9302.

- It has an SD flash card connector by default

- TS-9441 optional development card has 2KB EEPROM, and 2MB serial Flash, so
you can use it to bring-up/recover boards

- AC97 pins of the EP9302 are brought out.

- SPI_FRAME (SSP_FRM) is brought out (without the need to solder on a
resistor)

- It fits in to a Hammond Manufacturing enclosure:
http://rocky.digikey.com/WebLib/Hammond/Web%20Data/1455%20Series.pdf

- I image you could make a daughter board that would fit in a wider Hammond
enclosure next to the TS-7400 board and connect them via 40 pin ribon cable.

- Don't know why the TS-9441 need the power components. It seems to send
precision 2.5V and 0.833V postentials to the controllers analog to digital
pins. Maybe this is to calibrate each controller's ADC ? It doesn't seem to
be bowering the TS-7400

- The 2x8 JTAG connector on the TS-9441 is the same format as the older cards,
I'm not sure what JTAG adapters fit this format? anyone?

- Many of the controllers GPIOs are used for the optional RTC, and are not
brought out to the 40-pin connector. You need to use the 20 DIOs from the
CPLD that connect to the 40-pin adapter.

- The board looks like it has an unpopulated region that could hold a
switching regulator (maybe for efficiency, or battery operations, etc), but I
can't find this as a purchase option.

- It looks like the RED and GREEN LEDs are vertically stacked and visible out
of the back of the board.

-Curtis.
