Welcome to the group.
First off, I'd switch over to telnet or ssh as soon as possible and
use Putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/) to
access the board. It's been over a year since I got my TS7250 but I
seem to recall that it is setup by default on a 192.168
network...running ifconfig should tell you the ip.
In the meantime, here's what I have for settings in Hyper Terminal
that I used to occasionally access the board:
Bits per second 115200
Data bits 8
Parity None
Stop bits 1
Flow control None
Under File/Properties:
Function, arrow, and Ctrl Keys act as TERMINAL KEYS
Backspace sends CTRL+H
Emulation ANSIW
These settings probably aren't optimal, but work well enough to setup
telnet & Putty.
Check out the files section of this group for LCD samples. I think
there is a keypad example in there too. Samples are also at
http://www.embeddedarm.com/linux/ARM.htm, as are the official
cross-compile toolchains, which I would use.
Good luck,
Tom Johnson
