Hi Yan, The reason I believe the scripts are not running is that I get different behaviour when I insmod certain modules, depending on whether I have logged on from /dev/ttyAM0 or the ethernet or the /dev/ttyAM1. Yes right now I can get my stuff to work. manually, by modifying the ttyAM0 line from respawn to runonce, and issuing kill -1 after startup. Then I connect the Serial Emdedded device I need on ttyAM0. It is funny, unless I have the /dev/ttyAM0 line in inittab I can not insmod certain ppp related modules.. Let me ask another question. For default network configuration is it best to modify the etc/sysconfig/ifcfg-eth0 file or add a ifconfig eth0 to one of the scripts in /etc/rc3.d ? Also if I want to modify the default baud setting on /dev/ttyAM0 to 9600, do I have to modify this line as well : exec -c "console=ttyAM0,115200 root=/dev/mtdblock1" ? Thanks!! !.
