The CPU has AC97 support, but you still need a codec chip, some analog
support components, and some sort of audio connector to make sound.
The TS-7xxx boards do not have this. This would increase board area
and cost well above the next-best solution which is a $9.95 USB-based
audio dongle. USB-audio is not so bad as it just happens to be one of
those future proof USB devices since it was standardized in the USB
specification and has multiple equivalent suppliers in the market.
