You can drive the ezLCD-001/2 via the serial port on the base TS-72x0
card without any addional interface (as long as the serial is RS232
commpliant).
I looked at the ezLCD-001/2, but the small screen size was too
limiting. I went with an SLCD board from Reach Technology -
www.reachtech.com - which is driven in a similar way from the serial
port. I'm currently using their cheapest 320x240 board in the NEMA
enclosure.
On advantage of the SLCD - which I don't think is implemented on the
ezLCD - are macros. You can write a macro in a text editor which will
draw the screen and the buttons - including jump links to other
macros/screens - and when stored on the SLCD and executed the GUI
almost runs itself with no host processor involvement other than
handling any button press information and live data display. Each time
a new screen is drawn it outputs the screen number and my program
sends out the live data/graphics to finish the display...
