[ts-7000] 2.6 debate...

Yes, there was some push for a move to 2.6, lots of hot air on how 
much better it was, but in the end, all of the issues just were not 
issues... 2.4 was selected, it was stable (very important), smaller 
that 2.6, fast, did very well with interrupts, 802.11 networking, 
serial I/O, Zigbee, USB, CDMA EVDO modem, dual video sensors and 
flash file system using M-system flash. We will soon building at a 
rate of 5k unit a month.

Early development was done on a TS-7000 board, final product was on a 
TI DM320 DSP/ARM9...

So yes, 2.6 is there and some day we will see 2.8, but 2.4 is stable 
and works just fine in an embedded real time system...
