[ts-7000] 2.6.9 and fbui

I need to run a very limited GUI-style interface off the TS-7xx0;
basically a terminal window and a graphic window.

I've been playing with FBUI - http://fbui.org/ - and it looks like it
would be the ticket, except that it is written for the 2.6.9 kernel.

So....  What is the status of the 2.6 kernel?  From looking at the
archives, I know some work was done back in March, but I haven't seen
anything since....
