In general that means older is better (because more of the bugs are worked out). If there is a generally accepted version of 2.6 that is stable, I would be curious to know what it is. I am not sure what the new kernel features would bring to this target in particular, I would imagine that most of them would be valuable to a full blown PC target, but that is just my ignorance talking.
