Wireless cards can take a fair amount of acurrent. One I looked at
consumed more current when transmitting than the TS7200 board used.
More than doubling current consumption will place a strain on your supply.
What is your 5v regulator - what is the battery pack? Without more details
I couldn't possibly comment anymore.
