As you're using a piezo "bender" type element, you need to make sure that =
it can actually bend in order to produce an electrical signal. There needs =
to be a cavity on the piezo side (+) of the disk, which is not filled with =
epoxy. Even just a mm or so. A round piece of foam or felt might do the job=
. I remember using one of those felt pads used for sticking under chair leg=
s in order to protect wooden floors.
It is also important to consider the material and thickness of the bottom =
wall, where the brass side (-) is attached to, as it will influence the fre=
quency response of your hydrophone.
