I'm guessing they mean "silicone" rather than "silicon". One is a polymer. =
The other is a particularly hard mineral.
Please do let us know what the authors say. I'm curious if their silicone =
treatment reached the diaphragm, or if they were spraying it on the outside=
of a filter material like the ones that were mentioned earlier in this thr=
ead. Given the number of photos they put in the document, I wish they had a=
picture for the silicone treatment, too.
Good news is the stuff is really easy to get, if it's what I think it is. =
Most auto parts places and hardware stores sell it.
