I'm leaning more towards the Olympus LS14, the main reason being it's compa=
ct size, and the fact that I won't be using XLR microphones due to cost.  P=
erhaps if I was a professional, then the added expense of an XLR capable mu=
lti channel recorder with XLR microphones etc could be put down as a busine=
ss expense.  =0D

But wildlife recording is just a hobby for me, so something compact like th=
e LS14, with an EM172 pair will be ideal. It would also work well with me M=
agenta Bat 5 bat detector (which I'm hoping to make more use of this year) =
The LS14 will be nice and compact so I can pack it away in a small camera c=
ase in my backpack or in a pannier on  my bicycle if I'm away cycling for t=
he day in the countryside.=0D
