Continuous long tracks with Olympus LS11

I ask on behalf of a friend who is researching Pied Butcherbird song
and needs to record long sequences i.e. more than an hour.

Why does her Olympus LS11 recorder insist on making a new track after
65 minutes?

This happens using the internal drive, and also with an add-on SD card.

Settings are 96 kHz but there is still plenty of room to make a longer
track.

thanks for your help
