Several years ago I bought a Sony PCM M10 recorder because I wanted to r ecord bird songs. I used it often but was never really satisfied with the= recordings because of the background noise such as other birds, distant = traffic, etc. Last year I bought a shotgun mic, and although I was somewhat= disappointed at the lower Db level (as much as 15 Db less than with the on-= board mics) I was amazed to realize how much better the sound quality was with the new mic. Overall, I am quite happy with this mic. However, there are times when I would prefer an omni mic because I actually want to pick up m= ore of the ambient sound, with better quality than the built-in mics.. I would= probably not use this mic too often, however, and I don't want to break th= e bank with it. Any suggestions? Don Morgan, Coventry, Ct |
