I have a pair of AT3032s but never use them since they are not PIP and I ca= nt be dealing with xlr cables and extra boxes. However I did check the caps= ule and it seems to be electret based. The circuit inside the mic body is a= jfet amp feeding an internal transformer. Ill investigate machining a much= smaller mic body with plug in power based amplifier. My dynamic pre for th= e AKG D230 is already more sensitive (118mV/PA) than the Primo EM172 (vs 35= mV/PA) so bringing the AT3032 into the picture with a different higher sens= itivity pip based circuit will be an interesting exercise to see how a know= n low noise electret compares to a dynamic with high gain.=0D =0D =0D -Mike.=0D =0D =0D =0D =0D |
