Hi Emanuele, Here is one perspective: http://rockscallop.org/ear/jh-050220_pointwaves.html http://rockscallop.org/ear/jh-050220_pointwaves.html In this case the wave (though not that huge) was a point break approaching the cobbled shore at a fairly steep angle allowing for some direct lines of listening between each passing swash. Recorded with a baffled cardioid stereo array. The physical layout of the shoreline might dictate what approach is most appropriate.
