Jason,

I'm assuming that you have an input stage which is quieter than the mics.
Try my pile of bedclothes test. You will get LF house noises (I found 50 Hz=

acoustic mains hum from the house wiring vibrating) so use a bass rolloff.=


Look at a spectrogram of a quiet bit when you're not breathing. I use the
Audacity editor. With my older Sennheisers, I see an HF tip-up at the top
end which is probably thermal noise from the air. If you see this, it is
probably the irreducible thermal noise from the air, but it does give you a=

comparison between mics.
