I've been trying to start dawn chorus recordings with the first loud call =
to give that clue, but it's usually too short, and I'd prefer not to edit s=
ome in. Perhaps a better way would be to choose a few seconds of loud calls=
and place them at the start, faded in and out like a mini track in place o=
f your 1kHz tone.=0D

Perhaps another way to think about this issue is that nature soundscape rec=
ordings frequently have a large dynamic range and ofter start off quiet. So=
I'm trying to think of a way to clue the listener that the track starts so=
ft but gets much louder and they should keep that fact in mind when setting=
their listening volume. A few seconds of 1K tone at the beginning could be=
effective but really obnoxious. Anyone have an effective solution?=0D
