I was in despair, ready to even read the manual (that's pretty serious) when out with my Telinga Pro7, connected to a decent recorder. I could pick up birdsong with clarity, as well as an intermittent click from heaven knows where. I checked all the user, monitoring and recording settings, verified that my phone was off, routed the mic through an SQN (I'm not sure what I expected by doing that), emptied the grasshoppers out of the parabola etc. still the incessant click every few seconds. I guess you know where I'm going with this - sure enough, I was standing a few metres away from an electric fence. I know what it is now, on the few occasions it has occurred since. I couldn't say if it is the mic or the recorder though. David |
